Many printers like HP Officejet 6600 has a ‘scan-to’ feature. This allows users to scan from their printer and send or save it on their devices, computer, online storage and more. Here are the easy steps on how to scan from your HP printer to your computer. These steps also apply to HP multifunction printers with built-in scanners.

How do I scan documents and photos into the computer?

  1. Prepare the document or photo to be scanned. Turn on printer and open scanner lid.
  2. Insert the document or photo face-down on the flatbed scanner. Make sure that the printer is connected to your computer and PC is turned on.
  3. Press ‘scan’ button to start scanning. Wait until scan is complete.
  4. The scanned image will appear on the screen. Confirm scan quality and other things you wanted from your output.  Click ‘Accept’ if scan is okay.
  5. Complete the scanning procedure. A window will prompt on where you would want to save your scanned output. 
  6. Select location on your computer then hit ‘Save’. The scanned output will be automatically save on your computer.
  7. You can also opt to fax, email or print your scanned document by selecting one of the “scan-to” options.

Are there other ways to save scanned output?

Yes. As mentioned, HP Officejet 6600 has several “scan-to” options. Other than your computer, one option you can try is to save your scanned documents to your email.
